Here are some action figure links I've found over the years....Manufacturers' Websites
Hasbro's Star Wars site. The first group of action figures that I collected on a regular basis. The new series is quite a bit better than the ones I had as a kid. Hasbro's G.I. Joe site. The most well known 12" action figures on the market. They have some nice features but they aren't as posable as some of the other companies on the market. Dragon Action Figures site. In my opinion these are probably the best action figures out there. They are very well detailed, you can put them in just about any pose and the weapons look fairly realistic. Dragon's US site. DiD or Dragon in Dreams site. I don't have any figures from them yet since they seem to be almost exclusively Germans, but it looks like they are starting to do some allies. When they do, I will get one to compare. Blue Box Toys site. When I originally made this page, I didn't think BBI was as good as the Dragon ones. Alot of the guys had the same faces and I didn't particularly like their sculpts. The figures were pretty sparse on the gear and other things. However, in the years since, BBI has done a great job in closing in the gap. In some ways, they have better stuff than Dragon. In other ways they don't. Often on the boards, there are discussions of which one is better. This highlights why competition is good. Ignite Action Figures site. Another company I don't have any figures from, but I've been tempted to get some of their Romans. Overall, they look like pretty nice figures with some nice gear but their heads need some work. Since they have a Teutonic Knight, I would love to see them do Alexander Nevsky. Sideshow Toys. They produce cool Monty Python figures plus some figures from other eras not normally covered by other companies. They have Civil War figures and WWI figures. 21st Century Toys site. If these figures didn't have such stupid looking faces they could give GI Joe a run for their money. The uniforms are pretty well detailed, the weapons look pretty good, they are as posable as the Blue Box and Dragon figures and they are about the same price as G.I. Joes. I don't like the sculpt on most of the faces though. Valor USA site. Another company I don't have any figures from, but they like to tackle some subjects that aren't addressed by the other companies. Their Battleship Row Sailor looks interesting, as do the women figures. Dog Soldiers site. I have one figure from this company. I like their choice of subjects but the figure bodies aren't much better than a GI Joe. I would love to see them do a few more figures. I would really like to see a couple woodland Native Americans. Cotswold Collectibles They make some really neat uniforms. If they used different bodies, they would be much cooler. Haven't bought anything from them yet, but they have a really nice review section as well. James DeSimone I received the Sherman tank that I ordered from him. Pretty quick delivery considering it went ground and the size of the package. The tank itself looks fairly nice out of the box, with a little work can look very nicer.Shops
I don't know what their delivery times are like because they are within driving range, but their store is really cool. They sell more than just action figures, they also have all sorts of miniature soldiers from all eras. The people at the store are pretty cool too. Definately a keeper.
I ordered a figure from this website. They have a pretty wide selection although their site is pretty hard to find a specific figure. They have some loose stuff which is a bit easier to find. Their prices are fairly reasonable and shipping is pretty quick. I generally get stuff I order from them in under a week. Echo Base Toys I've ordered a couple of figures from them, quick delivery. I've also been to their shop which is very cool. The Monkey Depot Quick service and delivery. Heard lots of good stuff about them. Sampled them and it's true. I will add other places as I sample them.
